Hyderabad: Rains on Tuesday night led to the opening of gates of twin reservoirs Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar on Wednesday to release surplus water into the River Musi, according to an official statement issued by the HMWSSB.
The statement said that two gates of Osman Sagar and two gates of Himayat Sagar were opened to release surplus water into the river. HMWSSB officials had operated the gates of these twin reservoirs over the past couple of months and shut them in the last two weeks due to the monsoon windup.

Gates: 2 gates opened at 2-ft height
Himayat Sagar:

Present level: 1763.35 Feet (2.911 TMC)
Inflows: 600 Cusecs
Outflow: 1365 Cusecs
Gates: 1 gate opened at 3-ft height and 1 gate opened at 1-ft height
