Sri Lanka and Pakistan women cricket teams will only have pride at stake in match no. 25 of the ICC Women ODI World Cup 2025 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo with both sides out of semifinals race after Team India’s win over New Zealand on Thursday night. The Lankans and Pakistan are both near the bottom half of the table with Chamari Athapaththu’s side at least posting one win in the tournament so far over Bangladesh.
Fatima Sana’s Pakistan team are yet to post a win in this current edition of the World Cup and their only two points have come thanks to two washed out matches in Colombo. Pakistan’s best chance to post a win would have been against England but even in that match rain had the final say.
Pakistan have been overly reliant on batter Sidra Amin – their leading run-scorer in ODI cricket in 2025 with 656 runs at an average of 59.63. Their next highest run-getter is opener Muneeba Ali with 402 runs at an average of only 30.92.
Sri Lanka, though, have a dominant record in head-to-head matches against Pakistan, winning 22 out of the 33 games so far with Pakistanis winning only 11 times. But rain is once again set to make an appearance at the R. Premadasa Stadium with northeast monsoon not easing anytime soon in Colombo.
