WATCH: Owner of Mohammad Rizwan’s team humiliates Mohsin Naqvi, in a viral video he has…

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and their chairman Mohsin Naqvi were humiliated at the Asia Cup 2025 final and now they have humbled at home as well. The PCB had set a legal notice to Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Multan Sultans threatening to suspend them on Thursday and in reply the PSL side’s owner tore up the notice in a viral video.

Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen tore up a legal notice in a video posted on ‘X’, which was sent to him by the PCB threatening to blacklist him and terminate the contract of his team. The battle between businessman Ali Tareen and the PCB blew up publicly after it was revealed on Thursday that the board had sent a notice in which they had asked him to ‘publicly retract and apologise’ for his critical comments about the way the PSL has been run by the PCB.

The notice was sent after Tareen, who belongs to a powerful and wealthy business and political family, had several times questioned the success of the PSL as claimed by the PCB and the way it was managing the league on social media and on podcasts.

Ali Tareen is son of Pakistan industrialist Jahangir Tareen, who is the founder of JDW Sugar Mills, also known as JDW Group, a conglomerate specializing in the manufacturing and sale of sugar and associated products, ethanol (bio-fuels) production, power generation, transmission and sales, sugar cane farms, and aircraft operations and maintenance services.

Jahangir has been a member of National Assembly of Pakistan from 2002 to 2017. According to media report, Jahangir has net worth of PKR Rs 400 billion.

In one podcast, Ali Tareen had claimed that the PSL had now become the fifth or sixth ranked T20 league because of the incompetent people running it in Pakistan. However, instead of remaining quiet after the receipt of the notice last month and once it was made public, Ali Tareen has come out all guns firing and openly mocked the PCB officials in a video trending on social media where majority have supported his stance.

In the video, Ali Tareen plays ‘apologises’ to PCB in a sarcastic manner and continued to lash out at the PCB and PSL officials. In the end he tears up the notice and says ‘this is my apology’.

According to sources, the PCB were forced to send the notice to Ali Tareen as he had breached clauses of his PSL contract with the board. Tareen owns one of the most expensive franchises in the PSL paying an annual fee of $6.35 million to the PCB – the most by any of the six franchises in the PSL and according to him Multan Sultans, led by Mohammad Rizwan, has spent Rs 7 billion PKR on PSL-related cricket activities.
