LUCKNOW: Individuals and families interested in acquiring a residential unit within apartment blocks and colonies established by housing authorities can now do so without multiple visits to the local govt offices. Housing department directed 29 housing development authorities, as well as UP Housing Board, to compile centralised list of vacant properties.
The list will be displayed on portal managed by authorities (Lucknow Kanpur Varanasi and other development authorities) individually and on the portal of the housing department. To persuade potential buyers to invest in a property, concerned govt agencies have been asked to upload latest photographs of the units along with their geo-coordinates (Google Map).
UP Housing Board in Lucknow alone has floated more than 4,250 residential units on the block under various schemes, along with complete addresses, areas and costs on the centralised portal. Individuals will have the option to register with the authorities and participate in the lottery draw to buy such properties.
A resident of Shaktinagar locality in Indiranagar, Awadhesh Verma, said, “I was looking for suitable property for more than a year and want to buy a three-bedroom flat in a developing locality. Opting for govt-backed housing scheme is a safe bet. Avadh Vihar, Himalayan Enclave and Kailash Enclave are where I have started exploring for ready-to-move flats.”
Of 30 govt housing agencies, 21 have put up list of properties. An official said properties can be explored at Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Mathura, Moradabad, Gkp and Jhansi.
