The much-talked-about emotional drama The Girlfriend, starring National Crush Rashmika Mandanna and talented actor Dheekshith Shetty, is winning hearts everywhere. The film, directed by Rahul Ravindran and presented by Allu Aravind under Geetha Arts and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment banners, continues its dream run at the box office, collecting ₹20.4 crore worldwide in just five days.
To celebrate the blockbuster success, a grand event was held in Hyderabad with actor Vijay Deverakonda as the chief guest. Vijay, who shares a close bond with the Geetha Govindam team, couldn’t hold back his tears after watching the film. “I was emotional throughout. Rashmika took this film out of responsibility, and it’s a story society truly needs to hear,” he said. Praising the team, he added that The Girlfriend has sparked awareness about respect and equality in relationships. “More than box-office numbers, its social impact is priceless,” he said.
Rashmika Mandanna, who played Bhooma, said the film touched her deeply. “Some of Bhooma’s pain felt personal. Seeing women relate to her and feel free makes me emotional.
