The trailer of Raju Weds Rambai was unveiled in Hyderabad on Thursday, with actor Adivi Sesh attending as the chief guest. Starring Akhil Uddemari and Tejaswini Rao in the lead roles, the film is produced by Dolamukhi Subaltern Films and Monsoons Tales under the presentation of Dr. Nageshwar Rao Pujari, and backed by ETV Win Originals Production. The movie is set for a grand theatrical release on November 21 under the banners of Vamsi Nandipati Entertainments and Bunny Vas Works.
At the event, lyricist Mittapalli Surender said he was grateful for the huge response to the viral song Rambai Neemeedha Naaku, written overnight and featured as the film’s title track. Music director Suresh Bobbili thanked listeners for helping the song trend nationwide, adding that the remaining tracks will also strike an emotional chord with audiences.
Actor Chaitu Jonnalagadda, who plays the heroine’s father Venkanna, said the trailer shows only a glimpse of the emotional journey in the film. He added that viewers would experience a mix of laughter, sadness and intensity, and that the depth of his character might even make audiences “hate” him for the right reasons.
Actor Shivaji Raja said the film is backed by strong production support and predicted it will be a big year-end hit. Producer Bunny Vas described the story as a powerful real-life love saga from Telugu soil, clarifying that it is not about honour killing but something “even more brutal.” He said the movie will leave a lasting emotional impact on audiences.
Presenter Dr. Nageshwar Rao Pujari said the film reflects pure, selfless love that goes beyond modern labels. Producer Rahul Mopidevi added that the film, based on true incidents, offers lessons on how couples should stand together even in the harshest circumstances.
Director Venu Udugula responded to negative comments about a few intense moments shown in the trailer, saying the film was made with honesty and should be judged only after watching it. Director Saailu Kompati shared that although he wasn’t trained in script formatting, he crafted the film with passion and a clear emotional vision. He thanked the cast and crew for their hard work despite challenging shooting locations.
ETV Win’s Sai Krishna and Nithin said the movie overcame many struggles during production and carries a truthful narrative. They stressed that the film is not driven by any ideology but showcases a real love story that was hidden for 15 years.
Producer Vamsi Nandipati said the climax shook him so deeply that he became more determined to make the film despite attempts to discourage him. He believes Raju Weds Rambai will inspire audiences just as films like 7/G Brindavan Colony and Premisthe inspired him.
Adivi Sesh praised the trailer and the film’s emotional depth, urging the team to conduct silent premieres like Care of Kancharapalem to build strong word-of-mouth. He complimented the lead actors for their performances and said bringing a pure love story in today’s social-media era is truly commendable.
Heroine Tejaswini said playing Rambai is a dream-come-true moment in her six-year journey from short films to cinema. She believes the story will stay in people’s hearts. Hero Akhil Uddemari said his decade-long struggle found meaning with this role. He requested viewers to watch the film before judging moments from the trailer, adding that Raju’s love for Rambai defines the soul of the story.
Featuring actors Shivaji Raja, Chaitu Jonnalagadda, Anita Chowdary, and others, Raju Weds Rambai brings together a strong technical team including cinematographer Wajid Baig, editor Naresh Adupa, and music composer Suresh Bobbili. With powerful emotions, rooted storytelling, and a true-incident backdrop, the film is gearing up for a memorable release on November 21.
