Upendra: I was worried about how I could be ‘Andhra King’

Andhra King Taluka, the latest outing from Ram Pothineni, opened to positive reviews from critics. Directed by Mahesh Babu P, the film features Sandalwood star Upendra in a key role. Bhagyasri Borse is the female lead. The makers held a success meet in Hyderabad today.
Addressing the gathering, Upendra said, “I was super thrilled after hearing the subject since it was packed with solid emotions. The only concern I had was regarding the title. How could I be ‘Andhra King’? But people here welcome me with open arms whenever I come, and hence I feel like the king. Telugu audiences have a big heart. I have been getting this warm reception for the last 25 years.”
He further added, “I feel Hyderabad is my own place. I am really grateful to Mythri Movie Makers. I thank my co-actors and technicians. My fans Sagar and Mahalakshmi (referring to the lead pair’s characters) are promoting the film in the USA, but I am here. Actually, stars should be sent to the USA (laughs).”
