Police Book Lulu Mall, Organisers After Crowd Chaos at Nidhhi Agerwal Event

Hyderabad police have registered a suo motu case against the management of Lulu Mall and the organisers of a promotional event following a serious crowd control lapse at Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB). The case was booked on Thursday, December 18, 2025, a day after actor Nidhhi Agerwal was mobbed by an unruly crowd during the launch of a song from the upcoming film The Raja Saab.
The event, held at the popular shopping mall, drew a large number of fans, leading to overcrowding and chaotic scenes. Several videos that later went viral on social media showed Nidhhi Agerwal struggling to move through a dense crowd as fans rushed towards her to take photographs and interact. She was seen surrounded on all sides, finding it difficult to reach her car, with repeated breaches of personal space raising serious safety concerns.
KPHB Inspector S. Rajashekar Reddy said the organisers had failed to obtain prior police permission to conduct the programme. He confirmed that a case has been registered against both the mall management and the event organisers for holding the event without mandatory approval. Police officials emphasised that prior permission and proper security arrangements are crucial, especially for public events involving film personalities that can attract huge crowds.
Police have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain lapses in crowd management and security planning, and to fix responsibility on those involved. Officials said appropriate action will be taken based on the outcome of the probe, reiterating that public safety cannot be compromised under any circumstances.
The incident has once again brought the spotlight on the need for stricter enforcement of safety norms and crowd control measures at celebrity events held in public places.
