Prabhas Launches Global Short Film Festival to Spotlight New Storytellers

Pan-India superstar Prabhas has unveiled a powerful new platform for aspiring filmmakers by launching The Script Craft International Short Film Festival, positioning it as a global launchpad for fresh storytelling talent. The announcement, made through a striking video message, has quickly drawn attention across film circles for its promise to connect creators directly with audiences and major production houses.
Backed by Prabhas’ personal vision, the festival aims to democratize filmmaking by opening doors to storytellers from anywhere in the world. Short films of two minutes and above, across all genres, are eligible to participate in the 90-day competition. Winners will be decided through audience engagement, including votes, likes, and ratings, while every submitted film gains industry visibility through the Script Craft platform, already being tracked by producers scouting new talent.
Sharing his thoughts, Prabhas described the initiative as more than just a competition, calling it a space where ideas can turn into careers and dreams can find a beginning. His message has resonated strongly with young filmmakers looking for a credible entry point into the industry.
Renowned director Sandeep Reddy Vanga also appeared in the launch video, underlining the importance of short films in a filmmaker’s journey. He stressed that translating ideas from paper to screen is a crucial learning process and encouraged aspirants to use this opportunity to gain real-world experience. Director Nag Ashwin echoed similar sentiments, recalling how discovering talent through short films played a key role in launching successful projects, and urged creators to let their work speak louder than credentials. Filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi extended his wishes to young directors, motivating them to present their vision with confidence and chase their cinematic ambitions.
Adding further strength to the initiative, Quick TV has come on board as an exclusive partner for emerging directors. As part of this collaboration, Quick TV’s internal jury will select 15 standout filmmakers from the festival. Each selected creator will receive a fully funded 90-minute script project, end-to-end production support, and a global premiere on the Quick TV platform, offering a rare transition from short films to full-length professional direction.
Registrations for the festival are now open, with detailed submission schedules and categories set to be announced shortly. Organizers have reiterated that the core idea behind Script Craft is to ensure that talent, regardless of background or geography, gets a fair chance to be seen and recognized on a global stage.
Founded by Thaalla Vaishnav and Pramod Uppalapati, The Script Craft is designed to nurture writers, directors, and storytellers by giving them meaningful exposure and industry access. Meanwhile, Prabhas continues to stay busy with a high-profile lineup of upcoming projects, including The Raja Saab, Fauji, Spirit, Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, and Salaar Part 2, further cementing his influence both on screen and beyond it.
