Producer Naga Vamsi has opened up about the financial outcome of War 2, starring Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan.
He revealed that he bought the theatrical rights of the film for a whopping ₹68 crore plus GST. However, the film managed to collect only around ₹40 crore as theatrical share, resulting in significant losses.
Speaking about the setback, Naga Vamsi said he later met the War 2 team at YRF and discussed the issue with them. Understanding the situation, the production house reportedly refunded ₹18 crore to him.
His statement has now sparked fresh discussion in industry circles about high acquisition prices, rising risks, and the pressure distributors face when big-budget films flop.
