The upcoming Telugu film VanaVeera, earlier titled Vanara, has been officially renamed following objections from the censor board and is now gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical release on January 1 as a New Year special. The makers have confirmed that the title change was carried out with all required permissions, and promotions are now in full swing under the new name.
VanaVeera marks the debut of Avinash Thiruveedhula in a dual role as both hero and director. The film features Simran Choudhary as the female lead, while Nandu plays the antagonist. Presented by Shanthanu Pathi and produced by Avinash Buyani, Alapati Raja, and C. Ankit Reddy under the Silver Screen Cinemas banner, the film is positioned as a mythological rural drama with strong emotional depth.
The trailer launch event, held grandly in Hyderabad, received a positive response from media and industry guests. Several speakers at the event highlighted the film’s emotional core, which revolves around a son’s struggle for his father, blended with rural elements, mythology, and contemporary themes. The trailer was released by Kiran Abbavaram, whose support was acknowledged by the team.
Actors and technicians associated with the film expressed confidence that VanaVeera will appeal to family audiences as well as youth. The makers emphasized that despite being made on a modest budget, the film delivers a rich cinematic experience, especially in terms of visuals and CGI. Guest producer Rajesh Danda praised the film’s technical quality and scale, calling it impressive even by big-film standards.
Avinash Thiruveedhula addressed the challenges faced due to the last-minute title change, noting that while the team respected the censor board’s decision, the timing added pressure on a small production. He appealed to media and audiences to help take the new title VanaVeera to the people, expressing strong belief in the film’s content and its potential to connect with viewers.
With music composed by Vivek Sagar, powerful dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra, and a supporting cast that includes Khadgam Prithvi, Aamani, Shivaji Raja, Chammak Chandra, Racha Ravi, and others, VanaVeera is aiming to start 2026 on a high note. The film is set to arrive in theatres worldwide on January 1, promising a festive entertainer with emotion, drama, and mythological flavor.
