Charming Star Sharwanand’s latest film Nari Nari Naduma Murari hit the big screens today amid high expectations. The buzz is higher as the film comes from Ram Abbaraju, who earlier delivered the comedy entertainer Samajavaragamana. Check out the review to find out how Sharwa’s latest fares.
Story:
Gautham (Sharwanand), an architect, is in love with Nitya (Sakshi Vaidya). Her father, Ramalingaiah (Sampath Raj), feels their relationship lacks intensity since they never fight. Though he eventually agrees to the marriage, he insists that it be conducted at a registrar office. Gautham refuses, as he has a deep personal connection with that place from his past. Determined to make the wedding happen peacefully, Gautham tries to sort things out, but events do not go in his favour. What is his connection to the place? What happened in his past? Did he have a girlfriend or was he married earlier? Who is Dia (Samyuktha), and how is she connected to the story? Does Nitya know about any of this? The film gradually unfolds the answers.
Plus Points:
Sharwanand takes on a full-fledged comedic role and delivers entertaining moments throughout the film. His ease in dialogue delivery and expressions work well. He appears in two different avatars, and both are convincing.
Naresh is the biggest strength of the film. He elevates even ordinary scenes with his presence. His dialogues not only irritate the on-screen characters but also generate consistent laughs among the audience. Whenever he appears, the scenes are executed effectively and evoke humour.
Sakshi Vaidya looks charming, and Samyuktha is equally appealing. Both fit well into the film’s tone. Sudhakar, Vennela Kishore, and others support the comedy effectively in their respective portions.
Minus Points:
The film follows a very familiar premise, making it easy to predict what comes next in several scenes. While comedy is infused and works in parts, the story often takes a back seat.
The female characters could have been written better, especially in terms of emotional depth. It appears that the director chose to keep the narrative light and avoid heavy emotional beats, but a stronger script could have balanced both entertainment and emotion.
Actors like Srikanth Aiyengar and Vennela Kishore, who delivered solid performances in Samajavaragamana, are underutilised here. Given the expectations, their limited roles end up disappointing.
Technical Aspects:
Director Ram Abbaraju aims to tell a story driven more by humour than emotion. However, this genre still requires a basic emotional connect, which is missing at times. The comedy does not land consistently, and tighter writing could have helped the film appeal more widely.
Cinematography by Yuvaraj and Gnansekhar VS is adequate, with the visuals looking pleasant. Editing is neat. Vishal Chandrasekhar’s background score is fine, but the songs fail to leave a strong impression. Production values are decent.
Verdict:
On the whole, Nari Nari Naduma Murari turns out to be a reasonably engaging Sankranthi entertainer. Sharwanand delivers a comfortable performance in a comedy-driven role, while Sakshi Vaidya and Samyuktha do well within their limited scope. Naresh stands tall and emerges as the film’s biggest asset, lifting many scenes with his impeccable timing. While some portions of the first half feel routine and familiar, and the emotional moments could have been handled better, the film still offers enough humour. It makes for an easy festive viewing experience for everyone.
