DSP Turns Hero: Yellamma Glimpse Sparks Curiosity Across India

Star producer Dil Raju has presented a new pan-India film titled Yellamma, directed by Balagam fame Venu Yeldandi and produced by Shirish under the Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. After winning national acclaim for Balagam, director Venu returns with a story that is said to be deeply rooted in culture, faith, and powerful emotions, raising strong expectations among audiences.

The biggest highlight of Yellamma is the acting debut of Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad as the lead hero. After ruling the music industry for decades with blockbuster albums across languages, DSP is now stepping in front of the camera for the first time. His decision to debut as an actor with a spiritually driven and culturally rich subject has generated widespread curiosity. Adding to the excitement, DSP is also composing the music for the film, making this project even more special.

Set against a divine and mystical backdrop, Yellamma draws inspiration from native traditions, folklore, and rural belief systems. The makers unveiled the first glimpse on the auspicious occasion of Makara Sankranthi, offering audiences a visually striking and emotionally charged introduction to the film’s world.

The glimpse opens with symbolic imagery as a lone neem leaf swirls in a powerful vortex and rises into the sky. A goat watches the unfolding events as the atmosphere grows intense. Two contrasting figures run toward each other, one with ringing ankle bells and the other in rugged footwear, creating a sense of rising tension. As rain pours down, the neem leaf transforms into the divine presence of the Mother Goddess, filling the frame with spiritual energy.

In a striking reveal, a shirtless man straps a drum around his waist and sits on a rock near a tree with a sickle resting against it. The neem leaf gently settles behind him, and as he turns, Devi Sri Prasad is revealed as Parshi. With long hair, a rugged look, and intense screen presence, DSP makes a powerful first impression as an actor. The visuals of neem, turmeric, and vermillion add a strong divine aura, while the background score composed by DSP himself elevates the impact of the glimpse.

The concept glimpse clearly indicates that Yellamma will be a film deeply connected to spirituality, tradition, and raw emotions. With just this first look, expectations for the film have already reached high levels. Yellamma is planned as a pan-India release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, aiming to connect with audiences across the country through its universal themes and rooted storytelling.
