After the massive success of Maragadha Mani in theatres and on OTT platforms, the much-awaited sequel Maragadha Mani 2 has officially gone on floors, raising strong expectations among audiences and the industry. The first part created a special place in Tamil cinema with its unique blend of fantasy, comedy, and magical elements, and it went on to become a crowd favourite across cinema halls and digital platforms. The shooting of Maragadha Mani 2 was formally launched on February 16, 2026, on the occasion of Shivaratri, with a traditional pooja ceremony held in Chennai. The event saw the presence of actor Karthi, who sounded the clapboard, while actor Arya and director Venkat Prabhu marked the moment by calling out “Camera Rolling, Action,” adding to the celebratory atmosphere on the sets. The sequel is being directed by ARK Saravan, who helmed the first part and played a key role in its blockbuster success. The film is produced by Sudhan Sundaram, Manish Singhal, Durgaram Choudhary, Dev and KV Durai under the banners of Passion Studios, Dangal TV, RDC Media, Axess Film Factory and Good Show.
