S. Shankar hasn’t been in the best form for a while. His last two outings, Indian 2 and Game Changer, turned out to be massive disasters, which affected the filmmaker’s reputation significantly. Currently, the director is busy with the pre-production of his next film, Velpari.
Velpari is Shankar’s dream project, and according to the latest buzz in Tamil film circles, he has approached versatile actor Dhanush for a pivotal role in the film. Take Studios, which is currently backing Dhanush’s new film tentatively titled D55, is likely to co-produce Velpari. This is reportedly one of the key reasons Shankar attended the pooja ceremony of D55.
Pen Studios was earlier supposed to bankroll the Hindi remake of Anniyan, with Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. However, the project has now been shelved. With Shankar’s prior commitment to Pen Studios not fulfilling, the Bollywood banner may now come on board as the major stakeholder for Velpari. The post Kollywood buzz: Dhanush approached for a key role in Shankar’s Velpari first appeared on Latest Telugu cinema news | Movie reviews | OTT Updates, OTT.
