Sree Vishnu was initially set to have two releases on the same day this February. However, after several developments, one film was postponed while the other was preponed.
The film that was postponed is Mrithyunjay, a thriller, while Vishnu Vinyasam, a comedy drama, was advanced. Both films were originally scheduled to release on February 28, 2026, but the plans were later changed.
Many speculated that the films’ OTT deals were the main reason behind the unexpected clash and the subsequent rescheduling. However, during the promotions of Vishnu Vinyasam, Sree Vishnu clarified that OTT agreements were not the reason. Instead, he hinted that the cause was something different and more serious.
He stated that he does not wish to reveal the details at this moment, as audiences might perceive it as a promotional strategy. He assured that he would disclose the actual reason after both films are released. He also confirmed that the issue was related to Vishnu Vinyasam and added that the matter has now been resolved. Cinephiles are understandably curious and will have to wait a few more days for clarity.
Nayan Sarika plays the female lead in Vishnu Vinyasam. The film is directed by Yadunaath Maruthi Rao, with music composed by Radhan.
