With the PAN-Indian film The Raja Saab headlined by Prabhas, Maruthi aimed to step into the next league. However, the film didn’t meet expectations and ended up as a massive failure, with the director also facing massive online trolling.
According to reports, Maruthi is currently working on his next project, which is likely to be titled Happy Pongal. The film is said to be an out-and-out comedy entertainer. Maruthi is reportedly on the lookout for a lead actor, and as the title suggests, the film will target a 2027 Sankranthi release.
Maruthi has delivered some of the best comedy entertainers within mid-range budgets, and hence, he cannot be written off so easily because of one flop.
