Remember actress Mohini, who played the heroine in Aditya 369 and Chiranjeevi’s sister in Hitler? She was last seen in the Malayalam film Collector (2011) and has since stayed away from cinema.
In a recent interview with a Tamil YouTube channel, Mohini made a surprising revelation about her admiration for AR Rahman, often called the “Mozart of Madras.”
She said, “When he converted to Islam, it was a big heartbreak for me. I was a Hindu then. Dilip (his birth name) would have been enough; he didn’t have to convert. At home, I would openly say that I liked him and even wanted to marry him. In my mind, I had planned that I could marry him without any issues.”
She also recalled how veteran actress Lakshmi used to tease her: “Learn to cook biryani, that’s what Rahman likes. If you want to marry him, you should know how to make his favourite food.”
Mohini added that she met Rahman only once, during one of his early music concerts in Malaysia, where she was the host before a crowd of nearly 40,000. “On the flight back, he came straight to me, said hello, and left. When he did that, everyone turned and looked at me,” she said.
Her candid remarks have now sparked discussion online, with many wondering whether AR Rahman will respond. The post Aditya 369 Actress Mohini Once Dreamed of Marrying AR Rahman; Calls His Conversion a Heartbreak first appeared on Latest Telugu cinema news | Movie reviews | OTT Updates, OTT.
