The Telangana government has announced the winners of the Gaddar Film Awards 2025, recognising the best films and performances from movies released during the year. The awards were officially revealed by Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman Dil Raju. Actress Rashmika Mandanna was selected as the Best Actress, while actor Naga Chaitanya won the Best Actor award.
Rashmika Mandanna received the Best Actress award for her performance in the film The Girlfriend. Naga Chaitanya was honoured with the Best Actor award for his role in the movie Thandel. Both actors impressed audiences and critics with their performances, earning them top recognition at the state-level film awards.
The film Raju Weds Rambai, which is based on real-life incidents, turned out to be one of the biggest winners at the awards. The movie bagged multiple honours including Best Film. Director Sailu received the Best Director award for the same film, highlighting the film’s strong storytelling and impactful presentation.
The second Best Film award went to Dandora, while The Pre Wedding Show secured the third Best Film honour. The film Thandel also won the National Integrity Film award. The environmental-themed movie Igwa was recognised as the Best Environmental Film, while Little Hearts received the Best Debut Feature Film award.
In other categories, the entertaining film Sankranthiki Vasthunnam was awarded Best Entertainment Film, and Court received the award for Best Social Message Film. The film Mirai won awards in technical categories including Best Special Effects, while cinematographer Karthik Ghattamaneni and editor Sreekar Prasad were also recognised for their work in the same film.
Among acting categories, actor Shivaji was selected as Best Supporting Actor and actress Bhumika received the Best Supporting Actress award. Rohan Roy won the Best Child Actor award for Pre Wedding Show. Singer Anurag received the Best Male Playback Singer award for Raju Weds Rambai, while Sahithi Chaganti won Best Female Playback Singer for Kannappa.
Several technicians were also honoured for their contributions. Mark K Robin won Best Music Director for Dandora. Nandakishore received Best Lyricist for the film Kubera. Veteran art director Thota Tharani was recognised for his work in Champion, while Govind was awarded Best Makeup Artist for Akhanda.
The Gaddar Film Awards were introduced by the Telangana government to celebrate excellence in cinema and honour artists and technicians who contribute to the growth of the film industry. The awards are named after revolutionary poet and singer Gaddar, symbolising cultural pride and artistic expression.
This year’s winners reflect a mix of commercial success, meaningful storytelling, and strong technical achievements, showcasing the diversity and creativity of the Telugu film industry.
