Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi is gearing up to entertain OTT audiences with the upcoming web series Kaattan a.k.a Muthu Alias Kaattan. The show is helmed by National Award-winning filmmaker M. Manikandan. During the promotions, the actor made a shocking revelation about his production ventures.
He said, “All the films that I produced incurred huge losses for me. I backed a film called Sangu Thevan, but it was dropped midway, which resulted in a loss of Rs. 1.75 crores. After that, I backed Orange Mittai, Merku Thodarchi Malai, Junga, and Laabam, and all of them turned out to be loss ventures. Even though these films didn’t perform well commercially, I don’t have any regrets because I like all of them. Now, the Kaattan series has been produced by me in association with Jio Hotstar.”
Coming to Kaattan, the series will premiere on March 27, 2026, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. It also features Milind Soman, Sudev Nair, Risha Jacobs, and Vadivel Murugan in key roles.
Earlier, Vijay Sethupathi impressed audiences with his fun-filled performance in the web series Farzi, and it remains to be seen whether he can captivate OTT viewers once again with Kaattan.
