The upcoming fantasy-comedy entertainer Rākāsā has created strong buzz in the trade circles even before its theatrical release. In a major development, the Telugu States theatrical rights of the film have been acquired by Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Movie Makers in a big-ticket deal, reflecting growing confidence in the film’s commercial potential.
This deal is seen as a significant milestone in the film’s release journey. With this acquisition, the makers have strengthened their distribution network across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, ensuring a wide reach in key domestic markets. International distribution is being handled by Atharvana Bhadrakali Pictures, with plans to release the film on more than 350 screens across major global markets including the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, and Australia. Prathyangira Cinemas will oversee distribution in key regions like North America and the UK. Overseas premieres are scheduled for April 2, 2026, ahead of the worldwide theatrical release on April 3, 2026.
The film has also secured strong non-theatrical deals, further boosting its market value. Digital streaming rights have been acquired by Netflix, while Saregama Music has bagged the audio rights. These partnerships add significant strength to the film’s overall business prospects.
On the promotional front, Rākāsā is witnessing impressive digital engagement. The title glimpse has crossed 1.9 million views, while the teaser has garnered over 2.8 million views. The first single “Rapappa” has crossed 1.1 million views, and the second single “Padhe Padhe” has also surpassed the 1 million mark. The growing popularity of the songs indicates strong audience interest, with the album steadily gaining traction.
The film stars Sangeeth Sobhan and Nayan Sarika in lead roles, supported by a talented cast including Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, Tanikella Bharani, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Getup Srinu. Written and directed by Manasa Sharma, the film blends romance, comedy, and fantasy elements, aiming to appeal to a wide audience.
