Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have claimed their maiden first win of IPL 2026, beating the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Chennai. Punjab Kings (PBKS) remain undefeated after beating the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli have handed special mementos to Rohit Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Meanwhile, April 11 was a special day for Sanju Samson and Auqib Nabi.
Samson’s CSK special
After 3 defeats, CSK finally has a win. Sanju Samson smashed the first hundred of IPL 2026, an unbeaten 115, taking the 5-time champions to 212. Samson received the ‘player of the match’ award for his efforts, but Jamie Overton, who claimed 4 wickets for just 18 runs, deserved it as much as Samson.
Shreyas Iyer’s day out
Shreyas Iyer also bagged the ‘player of the match’ award, despite two other batters scoring fifties with a strike rate of over 260. The reason behind his receiving the trophy was the inability of other batters to score after the powerplay. Meanwhile, Shreyas scored an unbeaten 69 off 33 to take PBKS across the line.
SRH go boom in powerplay, bust after it
Abhishek Sharma knocked the ball out of the park in the powerplay. His 18-ball fifty helped SRH score 105 runs in the powerplay, the joint-third highest. Abhishek scored 66 off 22 in the first six overs and eventually departed with 74 off 28. Apart from him, no other SRH batter impressed much.

Auqib Nabi, DC’s most expensive pick at the 2026 auction, finally made his IPL debut. The INR 8.40 crore buy delivered just 2 overs for Delhi, the first and third, going for 17 runs. Considering CSK ended up scoring 212, he ended up as DC’s most economical bowler.
Kohli’s message to Suryavanshi
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s whirlwind knock in Guwahati against RCB, 78 off 26, has earned him a special message from Virat Kohli. After the game, Suryavanshi asked for the former RCB captain’s signature. The modern legend obliged, penning “Dear Vaibhav, well done” on his cap.
Rohit Sharma’s MI anniversary
Rohit Sharma has completed 15 years with MI. Celebrating the occasion, current captain Hardik Pandya presented him with a special memento and thanked him for all he’s done for the franchise. “Thank you for inspiring so many who’ve gone on to represent this franchise. You’ve been amazing, not just as a leader, but as a person, always friendly, open, and leading from the front,” said Pandya.
