Popular singer Mangli has firmly denied any connection with the ongoing microfinance case, calling the allegations baseless. Addressing the media, she clarified that neither she nor her brother has any involvement in the matter.
Mangli stated that her name was unnecessarily dragged into the issue and expressed distress over the way it is being circulated. She revealed that she first learned about the controversy while she was in Bengaluru for a program, following which she immediately issued a clarification on social media.
Becoming emotional during the press meet, the singer said music is her only focus and she has no interest in money. She also alleged that lawyer Subbu filed the case purely for publicity and personal gain, claiming it was an attempt to gain attention and visibility.
Mangli further asserted that she is ready to fight the matter legally and prove her innocence. She added that despite receiving lucrative offers during recent elections in the Telugu states, she chose not to associate with any political campaigns.
Expressing concern for those affected, Mangli said she stands with the victims in the microfinance fraud case and hopes justice will be served.
