10 Things We Want To See in ‘The Simpsons Movie’ Sequel

The time has come, people. After all these years, The Simpsons is finally getting a second movie. The release date provided is July 23, 2027—almost exactly twenty years after its predecessor’s release. There was originally supposed to be a Marvel movie coming out at this time, but this is a very exciting replacement. Creator Matt Groening‘s drawing for it is delectable, including all those sprinkles in the shape of the number 2. Since the show is on Season 37 and has been renewed all the way to Season 40, this film tells us that the Simpson fanbase is still going strong. The Simpsons Movie made $536 million against a $75 million budget, so it’s a bit surprising that it’s taken two decades to come out with a sequel. It was a lot of work to finish that first film, but it’s still a huge gap.
