Hyderabad: In a crucial review meeting held at the corporation headquarters on Saturday, July 26, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner RV Karnan underscored the urgency of obtaining trade licenses for all 3.5 lakh non-residential properties across the Greater Hyderabad area. The meeting also focused on enhancing property tax collection and expediting pending legal cases.
Commissioner Karnan directed Zonal Commissioners to submit weekly reports detailing non-residential properties in their respective jurisdictions, alongside progress on trade license issuance and property tax collection. He stressed that all non-residential property owners must secure a trade license and further instructed Deputy Commissioners to meet their assigned tax collection targets.

Focus on Expediting Legal Cases and Ensuring Staff Safety
During the same meeting, Commissioner Karnan mandated weekly reviews by Zonal Commissioners to swiftly resolve all types of court cases. He specifically highlighted the need for officials in the Town Planning Department to prioritize the resolution of court cases, ensuring compliance with High Court orders within stipulated timelines. He also instructed the timely filing of all counter affidavits and the uploading of their Unified System for Service of Records (USSR) number in the Legal Case Module.
The Commissioner also addressed a recent incident where a man attacked GHMC Town Planning staff in MLA Colony, Banjara Hills, while attempting to construct a boundary wall. Jubilee Hills Deputy Commissioner Sammaiah confirmed that the individual has been arrested by Film Nagar police and a case registered against him. Commissioner Karnan issued a stern warning, stating that strict action will be taken against anyone who attempts to assault GHMC personnel.
