WATCH: KL Rahul dedicate his special Test century to daughter Evaraah, video goes viral

Team India opener KL Rahul had to wait for a long time to score a Test century at home. In fact, Rahul waited for 3211 days to finally score a home Test ton – breaking the record of Ravichandran Ashwin in the process for the longest wait. Rahul notched up a 100 off 190 balls on Day 2 of the 1st Test vs West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday.
It was Rahul’s 11th Test century and 9 of them have come away from India. The Indian opener completed the century with a single of West Indies captain Roston Chase and had an emotional celebration immediately after reaching the landmark.
Rahul dedicated the century to his daughter Evaraah born earlier this year in a video which went viral on social media.

Rahul, however, failed to build on his century and was dismissed for exactly 100 immediately after the lunch break on Day 2. The Delhi Capitals batter offered a simple catch to Justin Greaves off left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican, a few minutes into the second session.
KL Rahul and his Bollywood star wife Athiya Shetty became parents to a beautiful girl Evaraah in March this year. ‘Evaraah’ means a ‘gift of God’, the couple had shared back in April.
The Indian opener put on 98 runs for the third wicket with his captain Shubman Gill, who scored an even 50. Gill, who scored 754 runs on the tour of England, was dismissed immediately after reaching the half-century – failing to keep his reverse sweep down off Roston Chase.
Rahul, who had scored 176 not out in his last outing for India A, was batting on 100 from 192 balls with 12 fours at lunch, and he was accompanied by wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel (14). After resuming on 121 for 2 on the second day, India went into lunch break at 228 for 3 with a lead of 56 runs.
After Rahul’s dismissal, vice-captain Ravindra Jadeja and Dhruv Jurel extended India’s lead with a half-century partnership for the fifth wicket. They extended India’s lead to 112 runs by drinks in the second session.
