Is D4vd a Suspect in Celeste Rivas Death Case? LAPD Clears the Air

Los Angeles police have confirmed that musician D4vd is not a suspect in the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, whose remains were found last month in a vehicle registered to the artist. The decomposed body was discovered on September 8 at a Hollywood impound lot in the front trunk of a Tesla after staff reported a strong odour coming from the vehicle. The car had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills and was never reported stolen. Authorities have said that the identification of the body took more than a week due to the advanced state of decomposition. The teenager was later identified as Celeste Rivas, who had been reported missing for over a year. Although several apparent links have been drawn between D4vd and Rivas, including matching tattoos and social media images suggesting a relationship, police emphasised that these connections do not make the musician a suspect. An unreleased song by D4vd referencing a “Celeste” has also resurfaced online, but authorities have not treated it as evidence of wrongdoing. “The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause or manner of Ms. Rivas Hernandez’s death. As such, it remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body,” the LAPD said in a statement, reported by Rolling Stone. “RHD is thoroughly examining every aspect of this case to uncover the truth and seek justice for Celeste Rivas Hernandez and her family.” The Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD) said it is investigating the case thoroughly but is waiting for an official ruling on the cause of death. Officials stressed that they have not ruled out the possibility that the teenager’s death was accidental. D4vd initially continued his world tour while cooperating with the investigation but later cancelled the remainder of his dates. Police have also raided a home connected to the musician, and he has moved out of the residence.
