Director Jayashankarr Says “Ari” Will Touch Every Heart

Ari, directed by Jayashankarr, is all set for a grand worldwide release on October 10 through Asian Suresh Distribution. The film is presented by Ramireddy Venkateshwara Reddy (RV Reddy) under the ARVY Cinemas banner and produced by Srinivas Ramireddy D, Sheshureddy Maramreddy, Dr. Thimmappa Naidu Purimetla, and Biram Sudhakar Reddy, with Linga Gunapaneni as the co-producer.
Starring Vinod Varma, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Sai Kumar, and Srikanth Iyengar in lead roles, Ari carries the unique tagline — “My Name is Nobody.” Director Jayashankarr, known for his debut film Paper Boy, spoke in an exclusive interview about the making and message of Ari.
Journey of Passion:
“I left a good job in 2014 because of my love for cinema,” said Jayashankarr. “After Paper Boy in 2018, I got offers from top production houses, but due to the pandemic, they didn’t happen. I started working on Ari in 2021.”
Inspiration Behind Ari:
Jayashankarr revealed that the story is inspired by Indian Puranas and epics. “They talk about conquering the Arishadvargas — desire, anger, greed, attachment, pride, and jealousy — but never explain how. I wanted to explore that idea through cinema,” he explained. “In 2016, I went to the Himalayas and met yogis who guided me on this concept. Their insights became the soul of Ari.”
He added, “I didn’t want to make it preachy. I wanted an entertaining story that still makes people think. There’s also good comedy from Viva Harsha that audiences will love.”
Strong Performances:
The director said he chose actors who could bring depth to their roles instead of big stars. “If we cast stars, their image might have overpowered the story. Every actor in Ari gave a heartfelt performance. Viewers will remember each character.”

“I’m inspired by Upendra’s films,” said Jayashankarr. “His movies combine commercial appeal with philosophical depth. I tried to follow that balance. Ari is not a message film but a mirror to human emotions — how desire, ego, and envy control our lives.”

The movie features strong visual effects and advanced technology. “Even with a limited budget, we achieved top-quality visuals,” the director said. “We used AI technology in a few scenes. The film has two songs, and both have received great response.”

The team is planning remakes in Hindi and Kannada after positive feedback from top stars. “A major Bollywood actor and a Kannada hero loved the film,” Jayashankarr revealed. “We are working to start those versions soon.”
He also praised his producers for their strong support. “They believed in the vision, even when the budget went up. Ari is an experimental film, and it takes courage to produce something like this.”
