US Cracks Down: Visas Revoked Over Charlie Kirk Death Comments

The United States has revoked the visas of at least six foreign nationals over comments made about the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, the State Department has confirmed. In a post on social media on Tuesday, the department said those affected were citizens of Argentina, South Africa, and Mexico, among other countries. It did not specify what type of visas were revoked or whether the individuals were in the US at the time. “The United States has no obligation to host foreigners who wish death on Americans,” the department said in its statement. Officials did not provide details on what specific remarks prompted the action, nor did they identify the individuals affected. The department said further information on the revocations would not be released “due to privacy and visa confidentiality laws.”This comes hours after President Donald Trump paid tribute to Charlie Kirk with a Rose Garden celebration on what would have been his 32nd birthday. Trump called the assassinated conservative activist a “martyr” worthy to be honored with some of the most famous names in history. “Charlie Kirk was a martyr for truth and for freedom,” the President said. “And from Socrates to Saint Peter, from Abraham Lincoln to Martin Luther King, those who change history the most — and he really did — have always risked their lives for causes they were put on Earth to defend.” He also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, to Kirk. On the occasion, his wife Erika Kirk told the assembly that her late husband usually enjoyed low-key birthdays with mint chocolate chip ice cream. “President Trump, I have spent seven and a half years trying to find the perfect birthday gift for Charlie, and it’s so difficult,” she said. “And those of you that have spouses or loved ones, you know how difficult it is sometimes to buy a gift for someone that you love — because he wasn’t a materialistic man, so that also did not help. But now I can say with confidence, Mr. President, that you have given him the best birthday gift he could ever have,” she added. The investigation into Kirk’s killing remains ongoing.
