Here’s good news for movie lovers who cherish the iconic classic Moondram Pirai (1982), which was dubbed in Telugu as Vasantha Kokila. Starring National Award winner Kamal Haasan and the legendary Sridevi, the film is finally making its debut on digital platforms.
After 44 years since its theatrical release, the film is set to premiere on OTT for the first time. The production house, Sathya Jyothi Films, has announced that the remastered version will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video from tomorrow.
The film will be available in Tamil, offering audiences a chance to experience the classic in enhanced quality. However, the absence of a Telugu version may disappoint fans who have long awaited its digital release.
Directed and shot by Balu Mahendra, the film is widely regarded as a masterpiece. He also won the National Award for his exceptional cinematography, while Kamal Haasan received the National Award for his performance as Cheenu.
