Akhanda 2 USA Bookings Off to a Slow Start… Fans Expect Bigger Boom!

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming mass entertainer Akhanda 2 – Thandavam is creating strong buzz in Telugu states, but the USA advance bookings are showing a slower trend than expected. The film is gearing up for a grand release in the first week of December, and the massive hype around the Balayya–Boyapati combo had raised huge expectations in the overseas market as well.
However, the current booking numbers are not matching the scale of the film’s huge business. Akhanda 2 has so far collected around $125K in advance bookings, which roughly translates to ₹1.15 crore. Despite opening bookings in more than 278 locations, the response is yet to reach the level expected from a big sequel backed by a blockbuster brand like Akhanda.
Trade experts feel the film ideally needs at least $1 million openings in the USA to justify the strong pre-release business. Based on the present trend, if the talk turns out decent, the movie may open anywhere between $500K to $750K on Day 1. With ten days still left for release, the team is hoping for a strong jump in bookings as the release date approaches.
Fans and trade circles are now keen to see whether the film can pick up the required momentum and deliver the kind of storm expected from the Nandamuri Balakrishna–Boyapati Sreenu combo. All eyes are on the coming days to watch how big Akhanda 2’s USA run kick-starts.
