All Alaska Airlines flights across the United States were grounded Thursday afternoon after the company reported a major IT outage affecting its systems. The airline confirmed the issue on X around 6.21 pm, advising travelers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.In a statement shared with NBC Chicago, Alaska Airlines said, “Alaska Airlines is experiencing an IT outage affecting operations. A temporary ground stop is in place. We apologize for the inconvenience.” The outage has affected all Alaska Airlines flights nationwide, including those operating from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.Technicians are reportedly working to restore systems and resume flight operations as soon as possible.Previous Outage in JulyThis isn’t the first time the airline has faced such an issue.
