Hyderabad moviegoers have a massive new venue to check out starting this weekend. Allu Cinemas has officially launched in Kokapet, and it’s bringing India’s largest Dolby Cinema screen to the city. Official screenings kick off on Saturday, March 14, giving local fans a major upgrade in how they watch big-budget releases.
Located right next to Allu Studios in Narsingi, the new multiplex features four screens built entirely around high-end audio and visual tech. But the real story is how the project actually came together.
During the grand launch event, star producer Allu Aravind shared the exact moment he realized Hyderabad needed a theater like this. He was already inspired by the highly advanced theater built by UV Vamsi in Sullurupeta. Later, a phone call from a close industrialist friend completely shifted his perspective. The friend called asking for help securing four tickets to see Mission Impossible 7 at Prasad’s Large Screen.
Seeing a wealthy, well-connected friend struggle for tickets just to experience a movie on a giant screen was a wake-up call. It made Aravind realize exactly how much Gen Z and modern audiences crave premium, large-format cinematic experiences. That single realization pushed him to build something that wouldn’t compromise on technology.
The 75-Foot Giant:
The final result is a four-screen setup designed for heavy-duty viewing. Screens 2, 3, and 4 are equipped with 4K laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound systems.
Screen 1, however, is the main attraction. Branded officially as ‘Dolby Cinemas,’ it is currently the largest of its kind in India. The theater facilitates 644 people and features a towering 75-foot screen paired with 4K laser projection. To match the visuals, the room is packed with a 360-degree Dolby Atmos speaker setup, designed to pull the audience directly into the action.
Bookings are already live online for the opening weekend. A quick look at the schedule shows that major visual spectacles like F1: The Movie and Avatar: Fire and Ash are already locking down the premium Dolby Cinema slots, while other films like Mrithyunjay and Kanchana (re-release) are scheduled on the Barco 4K Laser screens.
For a city that practically lives at the movies, this new addition arrives right on time. It’s clear that the demand for high-quality, large-screen viewing isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The post Allu Cinemas Kokapet: How One Phone Call Inspired Allu Aravind to Build India’s Biggest Dolby Cinema first appeared on Latest Telugu cinema news | Movie reviews | OTT Updates, OTT.
