Allu Cinemas Opens with One of the World’s Largest Dolby Screens in Hyderabad

Hyderabad has added a new landmark to its entertainment landscape with the launch of Allu Cinemas, an ultra-luxury multiplex featuring one of the world’s largest Dolby Cinema screens. The premium theatre has been developed by Allu Entertainment at the sprawling Allu Studios complex in Kokapet, Hyderabad.
The four-screen multiplex, spread across the seven-acre Allu Studios campus, introduces Dolby Cinema technology to Hyderabad for the first time. With this launch, the city joins the global map of world-class cinematic destinations. The project aims to offer audiences a premium large-screen format experience that goes beyond the traditional multiplex environment.
Veteran producer Allu Aravind spoke about the vision behind the project during a media interaction held as part of the theatre’s inauguration. He revealed that the multiplex was built after nearly two years of planning and construction, with the goal of providing moviegoers an immersive cinematic experience that surpasses regular theatre standards.
According to Allu Aravind, the idea for Allu Cinemas was inspired by the growing demand for luxury cinema experiences. He noted that audiences today want more than just watching a film—they want to feel the scale and immersion of the story. Observing the popularity of premium theatres and large-format screens, the team decided to create a theatre that delivers a global-level viewing experience.
The flagship auditorium at Allu Cinemas is designed as a Dolby Cinema theatre with seating capacity for 648 viewers. The screen measures approximately 75 feet in width and is considered one of the largest Dolby Cinema screens in the world and the largest in India in the flat aspect ratio format. The auditorium is equipped with a dual Dolby Vision 6P laser projection system that delivers exceptional brightness, deep contrast and vibrant colours.
The theatre also features a powerful 64-channel Dolby Atmos immersive sound system designed to create a completely enveloping audio experience. The auditorium includes 78 speakers and around 165 hidden sound outlets that allow sound to travel from every direction, including overhead. The result is a highly immersive cinematic environment where viewers feel surrounded by the film’s soundscape.
The auditorium itself has been designed with pitch-black interiors to maximize contrast and visual clarity. Curved stadium seating ensures that every seat in the theatre offers an optimal viewing angle, allowing audiences to enjoy the best possible cinematic experience regardless of where they sit.
Apart from the flagship Dolby Cinema screen, the multiplex includes three additional premium auditoriums equipped with Barco 4K laser projection systems and Dolby Atmos surround sound. These screens also feature Dolby-branded premium speakers, stadium seating and luxury seating arrangements including recliners and loungers.
Across the remaining screens, an additional 717 seats have been installed, with many rows featuring comfortable recliner seating. The theatres are also equipped with next-generation 3D capabilities, ensuring high-quality visuals for 3D film presentations.
The Allu Cinemas complex has been designed as a comprehensive entertainment destination rather than just a movie theatre. Located near major areas such as Gachibowli, Financial District, Kokapet, Narsingi, Nanakramguda and the upcoming Neopolis region, the multiplex is expected to attract audiences from across Hyderabad’s rapidly developing western corridor.
The venue also offers spacious ticketing areas, large waiting lounges and an expanded food and beverage section. Visitors can choose from a wide range of food options including Italian, Chinese and Indian cuisine. Multiple concession counters and kiosks provide snacks, beverages and quick service for moviegoers.
With world-class projection systems, immersive sound technology and luxury seating, Allu Cinemas aims to redefine the movie-watching experience in Hyderabad.
