Andhra King Taluka: Director explains the logic behind the Rs. 3 crores plot point

Ram Pothineni’s Andhra King Taluka is now playing in theatres. The film revolves around a diehard fan of a movie star, with Upendra appearing as the star and Ram playing his ardent admirer. In the story, Ram’s character gives his idol Rs. 3 crores after the hero ends up with no financial support due to a streak of back-to-back flops.
Some viewers questioned the logic, asking how a big star wouldn’t have even Rs. 3 crores. In an interview, director Mahesh Babu P. explained the reasoning: “Surya (Upendra) is a man of his word. He had nine consecutive flops before his 100th film. Surya would have compensated for the distributors’ losses for every film,” he said.
Mahesh Babu P. further added, “There isn’t enough space in the film to show every detail. Back then, heroes used to take care of their buyers. At that time, Rs. 3 crores was a huge amount. Surya had lost a lot of money after compensating distributors and producers. I don’t disregard the audience’s judgement.
