TIRUPATI: The Andhra Pradesh govt which has been showcasing Visakhapatnam as the Information and Technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) capital of the state, has also sped up the process of establishing an IT cluster park at the district headquarters of Kadapa soon.
Confirming the development to TOI, Kadapa TDP legislator and govt whip Reddeppagari Madhavi Reddy stated that the district administration has already identified a land parcel at the Kadapa constituency headquarters for the proposed IT cluster park.
“After coming to power in the state in 2024, The TDP led NDA govt has adopted a decentralized development model which is evident from the fact that different regions of the state are being showcased as specific hubs with Visakhapatnam being projected as the IT & AI destination for the investors, Tirupati, Sri City and Kopparthi industrial hubs being showcased as electronics manufacturing hotspots, while other Rayalaseema districts including Kurnool and Anantapur are also attracting several new industrial investments in defence, solar energy, drone technologies etc”, Kadapa MLA asserted.
Explaining that the state govt has set it’s plans of establishing 175 industrial parks in every assembly constituency in the state and to set up “plug and play” IT parks in select constituencies in the state, Madhavi Reddy added that the AP govt has accorded formal approvals for the establishment of an IT park in Kadapa to attract IT companies, startups and entrepreneurs, fostering a vibrant IT ecosystem in the region.
“While the Andhra Pradesh Information technology, electronics and communications (ITE&C) dept has already directed the Kadapa district collector to alienate the identified 10 acres land parcel to the Andhra Pradesh and allocate funds for the infrastructure development at the proposed IT park”, Kadapa MLA added.
