Former AEW stars CM Punk and Cody Rhodes featured in their video despite their controversial exits from the company. AEW celebrated the sixth anniversary of Dynamite on October 2, 2025. Cody was part of the Sting’s debut segment in 2020. It is one of the iconic moments in AEW’s history and the company had to add it in the video. Punk’s segment with Sting also featured in the video.
Cody was one of the founding members of AEW and looked set to be part of the company forever. But early in 2022, he announced a shocking exit from AEW. He hasn’t revealed the reason behind his AEW exit.
Punk joined AEW in 2021. He left the company on a controversial note in 2023. Punk had his last AEW match at All In: London.
Cody and Punk returned to WWE
Cody made a shocking WWE return at Wrestlemania 38 and deefated Seth Rollins. He received a mega push after his return and deefated Rollins at three back-to-back premium live events.
Cody got injured less than two months after his WWE return. But that didn’t halt his push and he won the Royal Rumble 2023. He challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputred WWE Chasmpionship in the main event of Wrestlemania 39.
Cody also won the Royal Rumble 2024 and once again challenged Riegns for the title in th emain event of Wrestlemania 40. He fnished his story in his second match against the Tribal Chief.
Punk made a shocking return at Survivor Series 2023. He was set to main event Wrestlemania 40 against Seth Rollins but got injured at the Royal Rumble. He was a rehular on TV even when he was injured.
Punk, after a memorable storyline with Drew McIntyre, was involved in the main event of Wrestlemania 41 against Rollins and Reigns. He won the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2025 for five minutes. He could finally regain the title at Wrestlemaia
