Hyderabad: The officials of Rashtrapati Nilayam, an official winter retreat home of the Presidents of India, Bolarum in Secunderabad, will organise the second edition of Cyclothon – Pedal for the Planet on November 2.
The event is being held in collaboration with the Hyderabad Cyclists Group, with the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) as sponsor, and aims to attract 1,000 participants, according to an official release issued by Rashtrapati Nilayam manager K. Rajani Priya on Friday.
The 20-km cycle route will commence from Rashtrapati Nilayam to Parade Ground and back via State Highway-1, between 6.30 am and 9 am. This initiative is aimed at promoting physical fitness, healthy lifestyle and environmental conservation, the release said.
Participants must be physically fit and free from health issues. Each participant should bring their own cycle in good working condition, and helmets are mandatory.
Interested individuals can register through the official website, https://rb.nic.in/Rbnilayam/ and are required to reach the venue at least 30 minutes before the start time, for verification and warm-up, the release added.
