Prabhas starrer Darling is back in cinemas in enhanced 4K quality. The movie recorded a huge start at the box office, which is testimony to how well it has aged among the audience. Estimates suggest Darling 4K took a banger opening of Rs. 5 crore at the worldwide box office, emerging as one of the biggest re-release openers.
Co-starring Kajal Aggarwal, the romantic comedy collected around Rs. 2.25 crore from Nizam, Rs. 1.70 crore from Andhra and Rs. 30 lakh from Ceeded. That makes its opening day cume of Rs. 4.25 crore at the Telugu box office alone. It also found some audience in Karnataka, where the movie fetched around Rs. 40 lakh, while the rest of India contributed Rs. 5 lakh, taking the domestic cume to Rs. 4.70 crore gross.
Darling 4K added around Rs. 30 lakh from overseas, which took its Day 1 figure to Rs. 5 crore gross. That’s a solid start to say the least. The movie is expected to see a good growth over the weekend and record a superb run at the box office. It will be interesting to see how the movie performs on weekdays. Nevertheless, the Prabhas starrer proved yet again how fans are waiting to celebrate him on the big screen.
Originally released in 2010, the movie was such a huge blockbuster that the title became synonymous with Prabhas.
