One of the most memorable happened when Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) and The Doctor (David Tennant) were separated during the episode “Doomsday.” Rose was then stuck in a parallel universe. The scene in and of itself is heartbreaking, with emotional performances by both Piper and Tennant that make you feel like your heart is being ripped from your chest. Fans had gotten to know Piper’s Rose Tyler, first as the companion to the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston), then the Tenth Doctor, played by Tennant.
