Producer Dil Raju expressed strong confidence that the upcoming film Dettadi will present Hyderabad’s vibrant culture on a global stage, speaking at the grand launch of the film’s glimpse. The cultural drama stars Ashish in the lead and is directed by debutant Aditya Rao Gangasani, with production handled by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations.
The glimpse launch event itself turned into a spectacle, with more than 500 street drummers performing live and creating an electrifying atmosphere. The event highlighted the essence of Hyderabad’s festive spirit, which is also the core theme of the film. The glimpse offered a powerful introduction to the world of “Ghannu Bhai,” a popular drummer who plays a central role in the story, capturing the energy, pride, and cultural depth of local band artists.
Ashish, known for films like Rowdy Boys and Love Me, appeared in a rugged and mass-oriented makeover that perfectly suited the role. His natural performance, body language, and authentic Hyderabad slang added depth to the character, while his portrayal of a band artist reflected dedication and realism. The actor reportedly spent nearly a year learning the nuances of band performances and closely observing real-life artists to prepare for the role.
Director Aditya Rao Gangasani, making his debut, impressed with his strong narrative grip and cultural authenticity. The story is rooted in real-life incidents and revolves around Hyderabad’s festival culture, including Bonalu, Vinayaka Chavithi, and other traditional celebrations. The film aims to present not just a story, but a lived experience of the city’s vibrant traditions and communities.
Dil Raju revealed that the idea for Dettadi originated from the director’s personal observations and experiences. He appreciated the effort put in by the team, especially the extensive research done by the director and lead actor. He also thanked the band community of Hyderabad, many of whom participated in the launch event voluntarily, showing their support for a film that represents their lives.
Writer and creative head Prasanna Kumar Bezawada’s signature style is evident in the screenplay and dialogues, while music composer Junaid Kumar elevated the glimpse with energetic drum beats that amplified the festive mood. The visuals appeared colorful and grand, reflecting the scale at which the film is being produced.
The makers concluded the event by hinting at a grand theatrical release soon, with the tagline suggesting that a “jathara” is about to begin. With its strong cultural backdrop, high-energy presentation, and rooted storytelling, Dettadi is shaping up to be a unique cinematic experience that celebrates Hyderabad like never before.
