DG BSF Daljit Singh Chaudhary inspires IPS cadets at SVPNPA parade

Hyderabad: Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary on Friday emphasized that Indian Police Service (IPS) officers play a crucial role in combating drugs, smuggling, and terrorism.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the 77th IPS Batch Passing Out Parade held at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad.
Addressing the newly graduated officers, Chaudhary urged them to uphold human rights, overcome future challenges, and focus on emerging threats such as cybercrime and financial fraud.
He advised officers to treat both the rich and poor alike, maintaining fairness and compassion in policing.
Referring to the ‘Operation Sindoor’, he appreciated the cooperation of police personnel with armed forces and highlighted the importance of fieldwork.
“Don’t rely solely on technology, as ground-level policing remains the true test of strength and integrity,” he said.
He further reminded the officers that the police station is the first point of trust for every citizen, and urged them to maintain that confidence through dedication and professionalism.
Stressing the need for health and fitness, he said, “Only when you are physically strong can you perform effectively in your duties.”
Chaudhary called upon the young officers to implement new laws firmly, face daily field-level challenges with courage, and always work within the framework of the Constitution.
“You are not just IPS officers,” he said in conclusion, “you are protectors who safeguard the poor and vulnerable from distress.”
