Hyderabad: A local court on Friday sentenced an elderly man to ten years rigorous imprisonment in the rape case of a minor girl reported in Rajendranagar in 2017. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him.
The convict, D Subramanyeshwara Rao (70), a tuition teacher had raped the 12-year-old girl, who lived in the same apartment and had visited him to take tuition classes.
Based on the complaint from the girl’s mother, the Rajendranagar police booked a case and arrested Rao.
The court also awarded Rs 3 lakh compensation to the girl.
