First Babar Azam now Noman Ali, Ramiz Raja stirs controversy with disgraced remark during PAK vs SA Test match on…

New Delhi: Former PCB chief and commentator Ramiz Raja sparked controversy when he made a sarcastic remark about the glasses of 39-year-old Pakistani player Noman Ali. Commentating during the 25th over of South Africa’s innings, Raja said, “He’s not wearing normal glasses; he seems to be wearing welding glasses.”

This was the second instance in just two days where Raja’s comments made headlines. On the first day, when Babar Azam was given not out and South Africa took a review, Raja sarcastically remarked, “Yes, yes, now he will create drama.”

Noman Ali’s Powerful Innings

Noman Ali delivered a stellar performance for Pakistan on the second day. Pakistan were all out for 378, but Noman took four wickets to bring the team back into the match. His economical bowling gave Pakistan the lead, and by the end of the day, South Africa were reduced to 216-6.

On the third day, Noman took two more wickets, dismissing South Africa for 269. Pakistan took the lead and were in a safe position at 36/2 at lunch.

Pakistan’s Strategy and Home Pitches

Over the past few years, Pakistan has produced rank-turners on home grounds, leading to successes such as the series win against England. Noman Ali and Sajid Khan have been fielded against batsmen who have challenged the opposition’s batting lineup.

However, some cricket fans criticize these pitches, saying that such wickets do not allow Pakistani batsmen to develop. But Pakistan has stuck to its strategy and continued to use home pitches.
