New Facilities to Enhance Public Infrastructure
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is set to improve the public infrastructure in the Serilingampally zone by establishing various facilities, including subsidized canteens, a public plaza, a bus stop, and public toilets.
Indira Mahila Shakti Canteen and Annapurna Canteen
An Indira Mahila Shakti canteen will be constructed near the Kothaguda flyover, offering subsidized food to women. The location for the Annapurna canteen is currently being finalized.
Bus Stop and Public Plaza
To enhance public transport connectivity, the GHMC will build a bus stop near the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Gachibowli. Additionally, a public plaza will be developed near IKEA to provide a recreational space for residents.
Public Toilets with Modern Amenities
The GHMC will also install public toilets at strategic locations, including near the ORR at Gachibowli and at Kothaguda. These toilets will be equipped with modern amenities such as hygienic bath cubicles, automatic sanitary napkin incinerators, and touchless flush systems.
EESL Urges GHMC to Release Outstanding Payments
In other news, the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has urged the GHMC to release outstanding annuity payments worth Rs. 144.48 crore. The company claims that Telangana owes EESL a total of Rs. 314 crore across various projects, with payments delayed by 19-24 months. EESL has emphasized that its contract with the GHMC is valid until April 2025 and has expressed concerns over the GHMC’s recent tender for the procurement and supply of 15,000 new streetlights without settling its dues.
