Transforming City Infrastructure
Hyderabad, India – The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is transforming the city’s flyovers and underpasses into vibrant works of art. This initiative aims to enhance the aesthetics of the city and make commuting more enjoyable.
Artistic Depictions
Artists have been commissioned to paint pictures of sports personalities, including Neeraj Chopra, Manu Bhaker, and Aman Sehrawat. Additionally, the pillars will feature paintings of birds, insects, butterflies, honeybees, and other creatures. Some flyovers will also be adorned with vertical gardens.
Commitment to Beautification
The GHMC is committed to creating a greener and more aesthetically pleasing Hyderabad for all. The LB Nagar Deputy Commissioner mentioned ongoing painting works at the LB Nagar flyover and underpass, as well as at the underpasses in Hayatnagar.
Previous Artistic Endeavors
This initiative is part of the GHMC’s broader efforts to beautify the city. Earlier, the corporation painted several walls and pillars depicting arts, flora, and fauna reflecting the State’s tradition. The recent paintings of freedom fighters received widespread appreciation.
Future Plans
The GHMC plans to extend this project to other frequently visited flyovers and main junctions, such as Basheerbagh and Himayatnagar. These artworks will complement the colorful illumination and other beautification works planned for these areas.
Improving Infrastructure and Safety
In addition to aesthetic enhancements, the GHMC has launched a significant project to improve junctions across the city. This Rs 78 crore project aims to enhance vehicle movement and reduce road accidents at 107 junctions. This initiative is a response to the rapid development in the city and the increasing traffic congestion.
