Hyderabad: HYDRAA reclaims 1.30 acres of govt land worth Rs 110 Cr in Kulsumpur

Hyderabad: Stepping up its anti-encroachment drive, Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) dismantled illegal structures on government land at Kulsumpur village under Asifnagar Mandal.
The operation reclaimed 1.30 acres of land valued at Rs 110 crore. The government land was illegally occupied by a resident identified as Ashok Singh.
Encroacher exploited land for commercial use
Ashok Singh had occupied the land, constructed sheds, and leased them to idol manufacturers. Despite two previous eviction attempts by revenue authorities, he continued to illegally occupy the property and resist clearance operations.
Government land secured for public housing
Hyderabad Collector Dasari Hari Chandanagar requested HYDRAA to safeguard the land for public use. The state government intends to construct double-bedroom houses for economically weaker sections, addressing the severe scarcity of open land in Kulsumpur.
Residents’ Complaints Prompt Action
Local residents had lodged complaints with HYDRAA over the encroachments. Police officials, in coordination with revenue authorities, conducted on-site verification and confirmed the land as government property.
Court ruling supports Government’s Claim
Ashok Singh had filed a case in the City Civil Court claiming ownership. However, the court ruled in favor of the government, reinforcing its right to reclaim and utilize the land for public welfare.
Operation executed under Commissioner’s Orders
The operation was carried out on Friday under the directives of HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath. Authorities acted decisively to remove encroachments and ensure the land could be developed for housing projects benefiting the public.
