Hyderabad: Idol of Goddess Durga dislocated at temple in Meerpet

Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed in the locality after unidentified persons dislocated the idol of Goddess Durga, the presiding deity at a temple in Nandanavanam Colony in Meerpet, on Thursday midnight.

Local residents found the idol, which was installed inside the sanctum of the temple, moved and placed outside on Friday, and informed the police.

A complaint was filed in this regard at the police station.

Police officials inspected the temple premises and collected samples. CCTV footage from the surroundings is being examined to identify the miscreants.

They suspect it to be the work of those who had come to the temple in an inebriated condition or had held a liquor party in the vicinity.
