Hyderabad, August 1, 2025 – The Hyderabad district administration has commenced a significant drive to distribute new and updated ration cards, set to benefit a total of 232,297 individuals across the city. The distribution initiative, which began today, will run until August 3, ensuring widespread access to government food security programs.
This phase of distribution will see 55,378 new ration cards being issued, extending food security benefits to 201,116 previously uncarded individuals. In addition, 137,947 more beneficiaries will be added to existing ration cards, expanding the reach of vital support to more families.
The distribution is being conducted at various centers across Hyderabad to facilitate easy access for eligible residents. Today, August 1, distribution began at 10 AM at Banjara Bhavan (Khairatabad), followed by the Cantonment area at 12 PM, and Rahmatnagar Hall (Jubilee Hills) at 3 PM.
The drive will continue on August 2, with distributions scheduled for 10 AM in Amberpet, 12 PM in Musheerabad, and 3 PM in Secunderabad. The final day, August 3, will see cards being handed out at 12 PM in Charminar, and simultaneously at 3 PM in Karwan and Chandrayangutta.
Authorities emphasize that only eligible families will receive the new ration cards. Beneficiaries are urged to visit their designated area center on the correct date and time to collect their cards, ensuring a smooth and organized process. These new and updated ration cards are crucial for families to access essential food support provided by the government, bolstering food security for a significant portion of Hyderabad’s population.
