HYDRAA Demolishes Illegal Encroachments in Hyderabad’s Hastinapuram and Chandanagar, ETRealty

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Tuesday cleared encroachments from govt and community land in different parts of the city, following public complaints received through the Prajavani grievance platform.

In Hastinapuram North Extension Colony, Karmanghat village of Saroornagar mandal, association members complained that a 1.27-acre park area earmarked in the approved layout was being sold as individual plots. “Acting on the complaints, we inspected the site and confirmed that the park land had been encroached upon. The encroachments were subsequently cleared, and fencing was erected to protect the property. Boards were also installed, marking the land as belonging to the agency,” said AV Ranganath, commissioner of HYDRAA.

In another operation, the team cleared encroachments on a 700-square-yard plot designated for public amenities in Gangaram Colony under Chandanagar circle of the Serilingampally zone. The layout, developed by the social welfare department in 1974 under the name Subhash Nagar, included space for community use, which was later occupied and converted into residential plots.

Commissioner Ranganath added: “The action followed complaints from local residents who raised concerns through Prajavani. After verification, the encroachments were removed and fencing was installed to prevent further misuse.”

The department has urged citizens to report such cases through the Prajavani platform for prompt action.
